Community Volunteer Event: Wet Meadow Maintenance
March 18 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm EDT

Join Van Cortlandt Park Alliance and NYC Audubon in maintaining the health of a wet meadow within Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
A small wet meadow within Van Cortlandt Park is home to a diverse plant assemblage, attracting a wide variety of pollinators and bird species. Two bird houses within the meadow house tree swallows and house wrens. The Van Cortlandt Park Alliance and NYC Audubon are working towards improving the health and diversity of this meadow. Join the organizations on March 18th to assist in plant removals to prepare for a planting and seeding of a pollinator plant species. Attendees will help in removing vines from the meadow, and cutting back shrub species. Please wear long pants and sturdy shoes and bring along water.
This project is funded by NFWF’s Five Star and Urban Waters Restoration Grant Program.
