We have two options: 

• Bench Adoption: A personalized plaque is installed on an existing bench in Van Cortlandt Park. 
• Bench Installation & Adoption:  With VCPA guidance, a new bench with personalized plaque will be installed in Van Cortlandt Park in a preapproved location. 

There are a limited number of locations available on the perimeter of the Parade Ground. We can schedule a call or site visit if you are interested!

• Adopt an existing bench: $3,500 
• Install a new bench: $5,500 and up

Benches can be paid for online, by check, or by Zelle after you have spoken with a VCPA representative.

Group Fundraising: If you plan to assemble a group to pay for the bench, VCPA can assist with an online fundraising platform.

Bench adoption is for a term of 10 years. VCPA will make repairs to your bench during that time. If you notice something has happened to your bench or plaque, email info@vancortlandt.org. On occasion, a bench may need to be removed due to capital improvements in the area. We will work with you to relocate your plaque to a different bench.

There is a maximum of seven lines allowed for the plaque text. We do not have a character limit for the plaques, but please be mindful when creating your plaque that large amounts of text will make the font smaller and text more difficult to read. We can get started once you make full payment and provide text for your plaque. We cannot guarantee a completion date for any benches, although we will do our very best!

The estimated time to install a plaque on an existing bench is 6-8 weeks.

The estimated time to install a new bench with a plaque is 3 months.

At this time, we are not offering tree adoptions. If you would like to sponsor a plant bed for one growing season (spring-summer-fall), please contact us at info@vancortlandt.org.

• World’s Fair benches: Available in 8ft (pictured at top of page) and 4ft sizes. 
• Concrete base benches: Available in 8ft and 4ft sizes (pictured below).

If you choose an 8 ft bench, your plaque will be on one side of the bench; the other side is available for adoption if it has not already been adopted.
