Van Cortlandt Park Alliance’s VIRTUAL PICNIC IN YOUR LIVING ROOM
LIVE ONLINE at 7:05pm on June 16, 2020

Bronx, NY — June 8, 2020: Van Cortlandt Park Alliance (VCPA) will host a one-of-a-kind, virtual PICNIC in Your Living Room beginning at 7:05pm on June 16, 2020. Donors, at any level, will be invited to join online for an informative and fun-filled hour and a half. All donors will be able to create their own picnic at home with recipes and a signature cocktail that will be emailed to them, along with a link to the event. Proceeds from this event will support VCPA’s educational, research, and maintenance work in Van Cortlandt Park.

“Since March, we have all found that parks are essential, and none more than our beloved Van Cortlandt Park. Whether you are running or walking, or communing with nature, I hope that the Park is there for you, providing a sense of normalcy and an accessible place to replenish your spirit. I am pleased to have this opportunity to bring our community together in support of the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance right now. Our virtual “PICNIC in Your Living Room” will be a fun and informative evening. I invite you to join us!” says Stephanie Ehrlich, Executive Director Van Cortlandt Park Alliance and Administrator, Van Cortlandt Park.

VCPA’s PICNIC in Your Living Room a reimagined virtual event is proud to honor two people whose devotion to the park and the Bronx have added to both its culture and history.

Silver, FAICP, and NYC Parks Bronx Commissioner Iris Rodriguez-Rosa. Program staff, led by Christina Taylor, will share some exciting videos of their work in the park followed by BronxNet interviews of the event’s honorees. VCPA is delighted to feature a special message from Harrison Bader, a 2012 graduate of Horace Mann School who is now an outfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals. But, that’s not all…the evening will be full of surprise activities and features.

At 8:00pm, the virtual PICNIC will ease into an After Party hosted by The Last Stop restaurant featuring Daniel Nuñez (a.k.a. DAMYO). Everybody will be encouraged to dance their socks off at home until 8:30pm! To join VCPA at the virtual PICNIC in Your Living Room, go to: vancortlandt.org or bit.ly/vcpapicnic.
