HIKE OPTIONS
All registered hike participants will receive a VCPA long-sleeve t-shirt.

Long Hike: Up for a Challenge • Starts at 2:30pm
Explore lesser known areas of the park on this 5-6 mile hike. Our longest and most difficult hike of the day!

Medium Hike: Take in the Scenery • Starts at 3pm
Stop along the way to enjoy the sites on this 3-4 mile hike. This is best for intermediate hikers.

Educational Hike: Learn Something About the Park • Starts at 3:30pm
This 2-mile, easy walk will have plenty of stops along the way, highlighting natural delights and fascinating park history.

Family Fun Hike: Bring the Kids • Starts at 3:30pm
This short, family fun hike is followed by a hands-on art-making activity where you and your little ones create a project to bring home. One adult for every two kids, please!

All Hikes:

  • Are led by skilled guides;
  • Finish at approximately 4:30pm… please take note of start times;
  • Begin and end at the Van Cortlandt House Museum;
  • Require onsite check-in. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time for your hike.

Attendees will be required to show proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.

Proof of vaccination includes the NYS Excelsior Pass, NYC Covid Safe Pass App (for Apple or Android devices), or completed vaccination card (hard copy or photo). 


Proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR Test conducted between Thursday, October 21 and Saturday, October 23. Rapid antigen tests will not be accepted.

Children under 12 may enter without displaying proof of vaccination as long as they wear a face mask, except when eating and drinking, whenever they are unable to maintain six feet of social distance from others. Children under 12 may provide proof of negative COVID-19 PCR Test conducted between Thursday, October 21 and Saturday, October 23 to participate without a mask. Rapid antigen tests will not be accepted.

If you purchased your ticket prior to September 21, and do not wish to follow the updated policy, you can request a full refund before October 7, 2021 by emailing christina@vancortlandt.org.
