Your efforts will create space for native plants to thrive and support the long-term health of this 640-acre ecosystem. \nWhat We’ll Do: \n\nIdentify and remove invasive plants such as multiflora rose\, bittersweet\, and porcelain berry.\nWork with hand tools to clear designated areas\, making way for native species.\nLearn about forest ecology and restoration techniques from experienced volunteers.\n\nWhen: \nFridays: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Please arrive on time – we leave for the site by 10:15 AM). \nWhere: \nVan Cortlandt Park – Meet at the Garden & Compost Site [Link to map or more specific directions] \nWhat to Bring: \n\nDress in Layers: Wear long sleeves\, long pants (denim or canvas recommended)\, and a hat to protect yourself from thorns and the elements. Avoid puffy coats as they can snag easily.
