DESCRIPTION:Hurricane Ida caused severe damage to Van Cortlandt Park including our beloved Cross Country Trail. We need your help! \nVCPA and volunteers will be working on maintenance of the Cross Country Trail and other nature trails in the northern end of the park. Wear closed-toe shoes and long pants\, bring along water\, and a snack. \nMeet at the VCPA Garden & Compost Site– enter the park at Broadway and Mosholu Avenue. \nRSVP now.

SUMMARY:Forest Restoration Fridays
DESCRIPTION:Assist in maintenance of the Northeast forest in Van Cortlandt Park. We will be removing non-indigenous plant species such as angelica tree (Aralia elata) and bittersweet (Celastrus orbiculatus) and promoting the growth of the indigenous oak-hickory forest community. Wear close toed shoes and long pants and bring along water. We will provide gloves and tools.\n\nMeet in front of Woodlawn Playground.\n\nRSVP Now.
