SUMMARY:Can It! A Story of Trash in Van Cortlandt Park.
DESCRIPTION:Can It! A Story of Trash in Van Cortlandt Park. \n\n\n\nThis virtual workshop is open to the general public and is a part of the 27th Annual Bronx Parks Speak Up. It should come as no surprise that human effects on city parks aren’t always positive. Trash is an ever present problem harming wildlife and ecosystems\, and making parks a little less enjoyable to visit. Take a look at the work being done by the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance to remove trash from Tibbetts Brook and from the broader Park. Find out what we find the most\, what can be most harmful and what can be done about it. This workshop is a part of VCPA’s Tibbetts Restoration\, Clean Up and Exploration project which is funded by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Environmental Justice grant program.\n\n\n\n\n\nAdvance registration required to obtain zoom link.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor more information on the Bronx Parks Speak Up visit bronxspeakup.org.

Van Cortlandt Park\, located in the Northwest Bronx\, has over 20 miles of trails of various levels of difficulty. If any of the suggested trails are too strenuous\, you can substitute as you like. The specific trails do not matter as much as hitting the goal of 21 miles. \nClick here for more information and to register.
