DESCRIPTION:Join Van Cortlandt Park Alliance for Wetland Wednesdays — a year-round opportunity to participate in hands-on conservation in one of NYC’s most dynamic and vital ecosystems. \nEach week\, we take on timely tasks in the floodplain\, supporting the biodiversity and resilience of Van Cortlandt Park’s wetlands. As we approach summer\, we’re especially focused on preparing for the arrival of water chestnut — a fast-spreading aquatic invasive. \n🛠️ What to Expect: \n\nSeasonal Focus: Spring tasks include early maintenance in wetland edges and floodplains\, with projects adjusting based on water levels and ecological need.\nHands-On Involvement: Prepare to get a little muddy or wet — you’ll be directly contributing to active restoration.\nAll Equipment Provided: Waders\, gloves\, and tools are supplied.\n\nRSVP Now.
