DESCRIPTION:Join VCPA staff who have been working this summer monitoring habitat of the Northwest Forest in a training of invasive species within the region\, and take part in a removal effort. The event will begin with an introduction to the Northwest forest\, followed by a training on common non-indigenous invasive plants in the region and a removal effort. \nMeet at the Riverdale Stables parking lot at 10am and we will walk into the Northwest forest from there. DESCRIPTION:Join the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance and Manhattan College for a community event on Wetland Wednesdays – March 22nd and March 29th – to improve the habitat of Van Cortlandt Park’s wetlands.  \nWe will be working to replace the invasive common reed (phragmites) with vegetation that has improved ecological value. \nNo experience is necessary\, and all equipment will be provided.
