DESCRIPTION:Join Joe Baker\, Executive Director and Co-Founder of The Lenape Center\, for a virtual presentation\, “Lenape (Delaware) Arts in Indian Territory: History\, Survivance\, and Renaissance.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program\, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts\, with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature\, and administered by the Bronx Council on the Arts. \nPre-registration is required to receive a link to Zoom presentation. \nJoe Baker is an artist\, curator\, and educator. He is the Executive Director of the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center in Mashantucket\, CT and co-founder and Executive Director of the Lenape Center. Mr. Baker is an enrolled member of the Delaware Tribe of Indians\, Bartlesville\, OK. \nLenape Center has the mission of continuing Lenapehoking\, the Lenape homeland through community\, culture\, and the arts. Since 2008\, Lenape Center based in Manhattan and led by Lenape elders has created programs\, exhibitions\, workshops\, performances\, symposia\, land acknowledgment\, and ceremonies to continue our Lenape presence. We push back against our erasure and seed the ground with Lenape consciousness for the next generations.

SUMMARY:Birdwalks with New York City Audubon
DESCRIPTION:Van Cortlandt Park Alliance and NYC Audubon invite you to join us for weekly birdwalks this fall.  Explore Van Cortlandt Park’s ecologically diverse grounds and celebrate a long tradition of birding in the park. We will look for various species of resident and migratory birds and discuss a wide range of avian topics. Each walk will be lead by a NYC Audubon guide. \nAttendees are required to wear masks and follow social distancing protocols while at the event.
