5 Ways to Get Involved with the Friends

A wonderful group of volunteers who helped complete forest restoration projects in Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx, NY.
1.) Volunteer! We have a tendency of saying that our volunteers rock and it’s because they do. We are very lucky to have over 1,400 people volunteer with us each year. But Van Cortlandt Park is a large park and there is always more work to do so we hope that we can continue to count on our volunteers. Whether you want to plant a tree, build a boardwalk, tend to our garden or help with our children’s programming we have an opportunity for you.
2.) Follow us on Social Media. Keep up to date with everything going on- Join us on Facebook, Twitter, Google # and Pinterest.
3.) Attend a Special Event. We often hold fun events where you can get to know us and the Park while supporting our efforts. Celebrate with us at the Bronx Ale House, join us for our Annual Hike-a-Thon or come see one of the Seven Wonders of Van Cortlandt Park.
4.) Take a Hike! Did you know there are 30 miles of trails in the Park? Join us on the first Saturday of each month during the spring and fall for a different hike. Get out and see how beautiful the Park is.
5.) Become a Friend. Make an annual contribution to become a Friend. The support we receive from our Friends is vital for environmental education and stewardship programs.
