City of Water Day- Wetland Restoration Project
Saturday July 16th, meeting at 10am
Did you know there are only 98 acres of freshwater wetlands left in the Bronx and 56 of them are in Van Cortlandt Park? Join us during this citywide celebration of water by giving back to a natural area in need. Volunteers will help with trash clean-up and removal of non-native invasive plants to make way for native plants to increase the biodiversity of Tibbetts Wetland. Meet inside the park near the last stop of the 1 train at Broadway and W. 242nd Street.
Our events are open to the general public. RSVP’s are encouraged for individuals or small groups. Adult and High School Groups please contact John Butler at 718-601-1553 or email@example.com to register for volunteer events or schedule your own date. K-8th grade groups, please contact Sara Kempton at 718-601-1553 or firstname.lastname@example.org to register for volunteer events or to schedule your own date. Space is limited so we ask that groups contact us at least 2 weeks in advance to schedule.
