Bimonthly Wednesdays meeting at 9am
Come learn about the health of Tibbetts Brook and Van Cortlandt Lake while assisting in gathering data. Open to adults, 18 and over only. Please contact John at john@vancortlandt.org to learn more.

Youth Run Farm Stand
Wednesdays from 2 to 7pm from July 11th- October 31st 
Our Garden 2 Market interns will have fresh local produce for sale at affordable prices at this weekly market. We also carry local honey, maple syrup and Bronx Hot Sauce.  We accept Cash, EBT/Credit/Debit, Healthbucks, FreshConnect Bucks, WIC and FMNP checks. Located at the Train Park at Orloff Ave. and Gale Place.

Volunteer Trails Restoration Crew
First Saturdays October to December from 10am to 3pm
Crew Members will work alongside trails professionals, developing skills in various areas of trail construction while improving the various trails in Van Cortlandt Park.  Projects include building boardwalks, clearing waterbars and drainage swells and installing drainage dips.  No prior trails experience is necessary; all training will be offered in an on-the-job format.  Interested? Forestry/Canopy Gap Volunteer Events
Second Saturdays from September to November from 10am to 1pm
The Friends are partnering with the Van Cortlandt Park Conservancy in 2018 with the support of a NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s (DEC) Urban and Community Forestry Grant to complete forest restoration projects to close canopy gaps in Van Cortlandt Park forests.  Meeting locations to be determined. Woodlawn Beautification Day
Saturday October 20th from 10:30am to 12:30pm
Join the Friends and the Women of Woodlawn as we continue our efforts to beautify the area around Woodlawn Playground.Meet at Van Cortlandt Park East, just south of Kepler Avenue.

Wetland Volunteer Days
Saturdays October 20th and November 3rd meeting at 10am
Did you know there are only 98 acres of freshwater wetlands left in the Bronx and 56 of them are in Van Cortlandt Park? Volunteers will help with native species planting, removal of non-native invasive plants and trash clean up within Tibbetts Wetlands. Meet inside the park near the last stop of the 1 train at Broadway and W. 242nd Street.

Get Active Hiking Series in VCP
Please wear appropriate shoes and bring plenty of water and a snack for the hike.  All hikes meet at 10am.
October 27th, Tibbetts Wetland Tour:
meet inside the park near the last stop of the 1 train at Broadway and W. 242nd Street.
November 17th, Seven Wonders of VCP Tour: meet at FVCP Compost Site- enter the Park at Broadway and Mosholu Ave.

Family Harvest Day
Saturday November 3rd from 10am to 1pm
Come dig through our compost bins, try a new veggie, clear our planting beds for the winter and participate in some gardening activities with your kids. Good for the whole family ages 5 and up. (smaller kids need adult supervision).  Held at Friends’ Garden and Compost Site- enter the Park at Broadway and Mosholu Avenue.
